SD TWILLY ROSE

Twilly was imported from the UK from the infamous Down’s Family SD Cobs. This beautiful girl is one amazing mare. She has perfect conformation, stands as wide as she is tall, perfect little head (I mean tiny head and tiny ears), smooth shoulder, short back and that nice round apple hip. Her bone and feather is something most stallions are jealous of for sure! She is one thick, thick girl! Twilly passes her tiny head and ears to her foals as well as all of her goods! She has raised super nice foals no matter who she has been bred too. Looking at her you ask yourself “why wouldn’t she produce the goods” great question, she does ALWAYS! She has plenty of hair and feather to spare! She has a BIG personality that we always have a good laugh at everyday! We love her but circumstances have led us to offering her to new pastures. She is one good looking girl that stands out in a herd for sure!

SD MR. O’MALLEY

Malley was imported from the UK from the infamous Down’s Family SD Cobs. Malley, where do I start? He is one incredible boy at only 4 years old! He is thick, heavy bone, little head and ears, nice sloped shoulder, arched neck, short back with a really really round rump! Malley has hair and feather galore! His feather is heavy from the front of the knee down and from the back of the knee down. He is heavily feathered! Malley is trained to ride, he sat for 10 months after 45 days of training. I threw the saddle on him and he could have cared less. I worked him in the round pen and he never once tried anything. So as the usual me I jump on, first time ever riding him. He was perfect, didn’t miss a beat at all! He is smooth, steady, forward moving and is sensitive to his ques. He is very light in the mouth and loves his job!
This boy is extremely SPECIAL specifically picked for our breeding program and was our first stallion imported! He only has 4 babies on the ground and let me tell you he doesn’t disappoint. The fillies are all yearlings now and they are heavy, thick, feather and hair galore! He is generous in passing on all of his goods.
Like I said SPECIAL, I will not let him go to just anyone. I will not let him go to a breeding program that also studs out. I do not want him studded out. Although he is dummy trained and I have semen in storage that is all I wanted to do in getting him dummy trained and collected for our future program.
Malley is very very sweet to the girls, we teach manners, there is no funny business allowed. He walks up to them, smells for a bit with NO biting or pushing them around and mounts with no biting as well. He is a very good boy and super easy to handle. He is very respectful to humans and his mares. We have only hand bred him and like I said he does his job very sweet and respectfully and I stand at the end of the lead rope and let him do it. No correction needed for him. Walking him to the breeding paddock he is very easy to handle. He does not push you around, get excited and hard to handle, he whinnies of course but that is it, respects where you are and stays with you.
Malley is just a wonderful boy with a full life ahead of him as a stallion or gelding happy to look at that too! He is more than just quality stallion material, he is an amazing gypsy with an amazing personality and temperament.
Life happens and circumstances have led us to offer this boy to a new pastures.
Malley is very very special and he will amp up any breeding program you may have! He rides out perfectly with mares and has no issues with them being around or even riding near or around them in the pasture. He is just a good boy, I cannot express that enough!
He is for sale not ON SALE!!!!! He is not cheap due to not having very many foals on the ground, broke to ride, dummy trained and delivers the goods in his foals! He is WORTH his weight in gold, every part of me is hurting to even have to consider this. He will not disappoint you or your program!
Malley does have one flaw – when he was coming 2 something happened to his eye, we have no idea what. There is nothing he could have hurt it on but he found something apparently. He was fine the night before it happened and when we did chores the next day it looked awful and we ran him for an emergency visit to the vet. The vet did not treat it aggressively and he eventually lost his eye. In speaking with a true equine vet and having him look at his eye, he stated there was no reason his eye couldn’t have been saved, just the wrong medications were given. Nothing made me more angry as we wanted to show him. That same vet removed his eye for us and the great thing his “blue” skin is what grew in and you can’t hardly even tell unless you really look hard. Since he lost it at such a young age it is like he never had it to begin with. He rides out just fine and it does not bother him. He mounts just fine with no issues as well as the dummy, they never had any issues with him not being square to it and mounting. It was not a genetic issue he damaged it somehow, nothing to worry about genetically, we made sure of that!
