STALLIONS
SD TOULOUSE
Toulouse was imported from the Down’s Family SD Cobs in September of 2023. We could not be more honored to have been chosen to be this stallion’s family and owners. Toulouse is a TRUE gentleman of a stallion. Toulouse is super laid back, loves his grooming time, loves to talk to us when we are around. Toulouse is one big boy, standing at 15 hands, he has exemplary thick bone, tons of hair and feather, girth to be jealous of, lineage that is impeccable, perfect conformation and 2 stunning blue eyes. We absolutely treasure this boy. Toulouse is trained to ride, we are continuing his training here in America at the ranch and he is doing absolutely phenomenal! Toulouse will be going to a trainer in spring of 2026 to further his abilities under saddle. We know he will do absolutely fantastic. He loves to learn and have a job! The foals he has produced in 2025 are incredible. They are built, built fillies which we didn’t doubt they would be, given the quality of our mares! Toulouse is one of the easiest stallions to get along with. He comes running to us when he sees us come through the gate and looks forward to what we have in store for him! Toulouse knows where he gets to do his job in breeding. He also knows if there is not a mare there, he quiets down and just hangs out to be groomed or saddled up. Toulouse is a fun stallion that has a fabulous personality and way of thinking. Toulouse is everything we could have asked for in a mature stallion to add to our quality breeding program! He has outproduced himself in all of his foals, which are very few, making him worth so much more to us knowing how truly special his foals are! Truly honored and blessed to have this stallion in our program and our ranch to enjoy!

SD WHO???
My Husband’s Very Special Surprise Boy
SD WHO??? WILL NOT BE INTRODUCED FOR A WHILE!!!!!!
Once he is introduced you will know why! 🙂
I had a very, very special surprise imported for my husband to call his very own! I had asked for a gelding that was going to be bigger (since my husband is 6’8), unique, flashy, that would stand out in anything we do with him. When this boy was offered to me, I was blown away! Janey could not have picked a better boy! This boy is a stallion, he made the cut to stay a stallion instead of being gelded. We had the option to keep him a stallion once he was imported and we met him or we could geld him. He is an exceptional boy with a huge heart. His conformation is impeccable as well as his bone and size. He has an AMAZING temperament and disposition, a pleasure and joy to be around. We just couldn’t bring ourselves to geld him, he is just so amazing! Janey could not have picked a better boy to be my husband’s horse. It has been so fun and endearing to my heart to watch these two grow together and make that special bond!
My husband had no idea what I had been up to. I already had to mares being imported and they would then have to go from Chicago to Lodi, WI for CEM quarantine. There was no way I could go to Chicago to get this boy without being questioned by my husband as to why I needed to go when the mares had to go to WI, since that is all he knew about was the mares coming over. HEHEHE so I had originally set up our hauler to haul a couple of horses for us to go to training. So I quickly reached out to them to see if they could swing into Chicago and pickup this boy for me and haul him here so I could keep him a surprise. They were more than happy to oblige to do this for me! Since this boy was 2 he could be picked up after his 48 hour stay at the USDA facility in Chicago. All my husband knew at this point was the haulers would be here to grab the two horses and head out. The morning he arrived my best friend, who knew about what I was doing, came over to see this boy in person and help me with the surprise. He was unloaded from the trailer and OH MY GOODNESS was he absolutely stunning, pictures did not do him justice, he is one you have to see in person! My bestie couldn’t wait to grab ahold of him and have him ready for my husband to come out and see him. I messaged my husband to come help with the horses to get them loaded into the trailer. He walks out of where his office is (he works from home) and points to where one of the horses is to go get them. Meanwhile, my bestie is standing right where my husband would walk out and see him standing out in the drive. He saw him but just thought we were shuffling horses around to get our two horses in the trailer. I had everything ready to capture this surprise on video and pictures and my bestie was ready with this boy standing so perfectly for my husband to see. After my husband had pointed to where he one of the horses that needed to go to training pasture is, I said “come here” he started walking towards me (which is a little ways to the drive and where my bestie and I were standing). He got about halfway to us and I yelled “Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, Merry Christmas for the next 10 years!” HEHEHE, he was absolutely shocked and couldn’t believe what he was seeing and what I had pulled off! My bestie had the biggest smile throughout us handling this boy for my husband until he took him. She was so excited to be a part of the surprise and I was so grateful to have her here so I could capture every moment my husband had with his new boy.
Truly an amazing boy this gypsy is, he is only 3 (just turned 3) and is absolutely the sweetest stallion I have ever met or owned! Nothing gets this boy excited. He has not been exposed to much so my husband and this boy have been working together (with my guidance) to have him be exposed to a lot of different things. This boy is more than willing to learn, dang does he learn fast! This boy is extremely smart! He has never blown up, pawed, been nervous to the point he runs through you or rare up (which I have seen but never had one myself). My husband has never been able to really bond with an animal, especially a horse. This boy and my husband have bonded in the short time we have had him. After my husband has been working with him only a few times, he had to go in and check on things in this boy’s pasture and he came right up and followed my husband’s every move. Stopping when he stopped, turning when he turned, trotting after him when he ran. My husband was absolutely over the moon with the biggest smile I have seen in quite some time!
Janey truly could not have picked out a better boy for my husband! They have just hit it off from the first time meeting each other, growing in their relationship, trusting each other, and learning together. I specifically asked for a yearling up to a 2 year old so both him and my husband could grow together and have that lifetime bond. Janey nailed it! Truly blessed and honored to have this boy added to our program as a future stallion as well as a lifelong partner for my husband!
