SD PRINCESS RAPUNZEL

Rapunzel was imported from the UK from the infamous Down’s Family SD Cobs. This golden palomino beauty has lineage linking her to the world famous SD Knomeo. Rapunzel is an extremely special mare, she carries the H1/n gene making her up to 50% bigger than breed standard. She carries 1 copy therefore, it can be hit and miss if she passes this on to her foals. Rapunzel is one big beautiful girl standing at 15.2 hands. She has luscious locks of gold mane, tail and feather that are so THICK and so LONG. She definitely gets her hair genes from both sides.
Rapunzel is very curious, loves to have attention. be the first to the gate to greet you and just be her goofy self. She is big, bold, beautiful, and stunning to look at! Rapunzel is easy to handle, be around, sweet, loving, wants to please and do her best.
Rapunzel has a beautiful head, thick neck, nice sloped shoulder, shorter back for as big as she is and a very nice round, built quarter to her, as well as superb conformation! Her bone is substantial and thick, which gives her a leg in each corner! She is very generous with her traits passing them on to her beautiful foals!
Rapunzel was shown in 2023 and did extremely well for not being show ready, it was a last minute decision and I couldn’t have asked for more from her! She placed 3rd and 4th in most of her classes! She literally was pulled from pasture, did a few runs for the patterns and we headed to the show! This is a true testament to the breeding that goes into SD Cobs!
Rapunzel has been out on the trails and has lead, been in the middle, and last she does well in any position out on the trail for about 6 months as a 3 year old.
Rapunzel had about a year off to have her foal. The time of year came around that she was ready to hit the trails again once her filly had been weaned. This girl did not miss a beat while being saddled and heading to our big round pen to be lunged! After she had been cantering for a while I said whoa!!! She didn’t miss a beat, she tucked her quarters right up under her, sliding to a stop and then putting her head down and backing up about 4 steps. It was incredible to see after a year of being completely off from riding. We then moved into our smaller round pen where I decided to get on. Again, listened to everything I asked. So we loaded up and headed to a trail. She was absolutely perfect for not being under saddle for a year and having a bit of an attitude when she wants too! Don’t do all mares? HA! Rapunzel never missed a beat on the trail and she definitely takes care of me! She has an absolutely perfect mind to her and doesn’t forget anything. We are so very proud of this girl and so blessed to have her as part of our breeding program and as a show/riding partner!

SD BOUDICA

Quinn (barn name) was imported from SD Cobs and the lovely Down’s family! When she was posted I absolutely fell in love with her. It was then that Janey (best friend from abroad) let me know about Quinn since she is absolutely what we look for in a young filly. It was decided between sisters, since Janey did not actually own her, that they would give me the opportunity to purchase her. My heart beamed with happiness and excitement to be able to add this absolutely perfect filly to our program whose lineage goes back to Woolly Mammoth, which I do not have in my herd. Quinn looks so much like her great grandsire almost marked the same!
Quinn is a big girl! She stands 14.2 already at just 3. She is perfectly built! Quinn is an extremely special filly, she carries the H1/n gene making her up to 50% bigger than breed standard. She boasts a beautiful little head, the fuzziest ears I have seen yet, elegant arched neck, sloped shoulder, short back, big round quarters! Quinn’s bone is thick and big with a leg in each corner full of feather! She has such a thick mane and tail with heavy feathering!
Quinn is so so calm, quiet, docile and just loves to be around her humans and have that touch and affection. She would rather be with us than with the others in the herd. Quinn will be an amazing asset to us since she will be a momma at some point but further more a heck of a riding horse.
Quinn has completed 60 days of training and was an absolute rockstar! When your trainer has “non” horse people come to visit and want the most chill, “you can just drop the reins and hang on” during a trail ride, you guessed it, Quinn was her go to!
We are so honored and blessed when these types of fillies are offered or the Down’s even considers us to be their owner! Truly blessed for each and every opportunity that they are willing to give us in their own incredible gypsy program!

SD HOSANNA

Hosanna is one of those “once in a lifetime mares!” I happened to notice her in one of the videos when the Down’s were unloading into a winter barn. Janey was so kind to figure out whose mare she was and she did. Hosanna was Dixie’s mare and she had not considered selling her. After much conversation between sisters, Dixie did give me the opportunity to purchase her! When Janey had come back and told me that she would consider selling her to me, I was over the moon! Hosanna is an incredible mare!
Hosanna has incredible abundant feather, mane and tail that are so thick and long, thick ~ big bone, girth and her conformation is spot on! She has a tiny pint pot head, tiny fuzzy ears, beautiful sloped shoulder, nice short back, with a nice big apple quarter and a leg in each corner! She is so sweet and just a joy to be around, we couldn’t have asked for more in this beautiful, stunning, loving mare. Hosanna is a total lovebug and loves to be with her human counterparts as much as her herd. She definitely holds true to the SD temperament that we all know and love.
Hosanna is smaller in stature than we normally have, but don’t let her size fool you, as she has outstanding bigger foals! Hosanna is very generous in passing on her feather, hair and conformation to her foals! We adore this mare so much and is a huge asset to our program! We are so honored to have the opportunity to add this incredible mare to our program.
We are hoping sometime in the future to train her to drive!
Hosanna is in foal and we can’t wait to see what she gives us for 2027!
